Albert Frey had longed to utilise the teachings of his friend, the excellent genre interior designer LeCorbusier, when he was appointed to design the San Jacinto Hotel in 1935. At the time, however, the frequent and permitted fine arts style in Palm Springs was Spanish body revival, and yet Mr. Frey's ensuant evaluation of that method had the clappers of a modernist's shop.
